• Responsible for identifying critical requirements and understanding system sensitivities.
• Drive the transition of opto-mechanical designs from R&D to high-volume production.
• Own design for manufacturability, prototyping, and test methods.
• Collaborate with NPI engineering, research, product design, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
• Develop manufacturing processes for emerging optical display technologies.
• Evaluate and integrate vendors and contract manufacturers.
• Conduct risk assessments and process optimization.
• Participate in design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Establish product readiness strategies and execution processes.
• Leverage production data for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in opto-mechanical design and NPI/manufacturing engineering.
• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven track record of developing automation equipment and custom tooling.
• Experience with 3D CAD (Creo or SolidWorks) and GD&T practices.
• Strong background in optical alignment and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with metrology tools.
• Excellent cross-discipline communication and project-management skills.
• Flexibility for travel as needed (approximately 10-20%).
