Loyal is a well-funded startup in growth mode. Our team includes scientists, veterinarians, engineers, operators, and creatives. This role will play a key role in supporting our growth strategies.

This role will report to the Director of CMC, Project Management.

In Short

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional CMC project teams across the full product lifecycle—from development to pre-commercialization.

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated project plans, timelines, and key interdependencies using appropriate tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Gantt Charts).
  • Manage multiple CMC projects to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget, providing visibility when milestones are at risk.
  • Support and represent CMC functions in project teams; coordinate deliverables across formulation, analytical, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, supply chain and full program team members.
  • Proactively identify and escalate risks, delays, and scope changes to senior leadership; propose actionable mitigation plans.
  • Partner with CMC leadership to drive resolution and manage contingency planning.
  • Ensure accurate budgeting and financial tracking; communicate budget variances to Finance and Executive leadership.
  • Contribute to long-range planning and resourcing for CMC projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field; advanced degree preferred. PMP Certification ideal, although not required.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3 years in project management (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proven experience with drug substance and drug product development and commercialization, with a focus on oral solid dosage forms. Experience with other dosage forms is ideal.
  • Deep understanding of CMC processes across development stages and regulatory expectations.
  • Strong grasp of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Gantt charts, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Proficient in Google Suite preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and risk-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey technical and strategic information across organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, anticipate challenges, and proactively develop solutions.
  • Commitment to quality, integrity, and ethical conduct in pharmaceutical R&D and commercialization.
