Intermediate Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate processing of financial transactions into the subledgers, digital filing of the documents, ensuring accuracy of data and adherence to accounting principles as well as performing reconciliations and supporting the Finance Operation team.

In Short

• Maintain the accounts receivable (AR) ledger and monitor client accounts.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve payment disputes.
• Maintain accounts payable (AP) ledger and reconcile expenses.
• Support the month-end close process and prepare journal entries.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
• Own month-end close responsibilities and optimize processes.
• Prepare monthly variance analysis and financial statements.
• Assist with financial reporting and ad hoc analysis.
• Manage digital filing of contracts and documentation.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

• 3+ years of full cycle accounting experience.
• Business degree with a concentration in finance/business/accounting preferred.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
• Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP – IFRS).
• Experience with GL account reconciliation and month-end close.
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills for customer and team interaction.
• Experience with Workday or other ERPs is an asset.
