Remote Telephonic Interpreter

Overview

As a telephonic interpreter for Zomi in LSA’s network of Independently Contracted Interpreters, you are responsible for handling telephone calls on demand and facilitating language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in a variety of settings, including medical, legal, and customer service.

• Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting
• Answer inbound calls in a timely manner

• Follow all policies and procedures
• Complete training(s) and participate in ongoing Quality Assurance monitoring
• Fluency in English and Zomi required
• 2+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred
• Technology proficient with web-based platforms

Requirements

• Full fluency in both English and Zomi
• US or International Based
• Landline phone access for sound quality
• Quiet and secure interpreting space
• Industry specific certifications/trainings preferred
• Proof of 40+ hour medical interpreting training preferred
