International Blue Cross (IBC) is a politically independent, Christian value-based non-governmental organization with a rich history dating back to 1877 in Switzerland. Founded in 1886, IBC now encompasses 38 national Blue Cross organizations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. The organization is dedicated to addressing health, social, and development issues related to alcohol and other drugs through advocacy, prevention, treatment, and aftercare programs. IBC promotes a collaborative global voice and facilitates knowledge exchange among its member organizations. Committed to international development, IBC aligns its initiatives with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and holds consultative status at the UN ECOSOC. Supported by its members and fundraising efforts, IBC is certified by Swiss ZEWO and is a member of the Swiss Development Cooperation Network.
