Lead Traversal Animator - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Traversal Animation Lead to guide and inspire a team of animators in delivering top-tier traversal animations that meet the highest quality standards set by the Animation Director.

In Short

• Collaborate with the Animation Director to establish an animation style.
• Provide feedback and mentorship to team animators.
• Conduct weekly animation reviews for quality assurance.
• Manage up to 4 direct reports and their career growth.
• Prepare and direct mocap shoots for visual quality.
• Develop and maintain animation schedules with project management.
• Evaluate animation teams’ Jira queues.
• Lead cross-departmental pods for key milestones.
• Contribute to department-wide asset identification efforts.
• Review animations and run levels for accurate implementation.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Maya and basic rigging methodologies.
• Proficiency with office and production tracking programs.
• Experience with non-linear editing programs, such as Premiere.
• Ability to learn and apply new software packages.
• Strong communication skills.
