Medical Coder & Biller - Remote

Overview

The Medical Coder & Biller will assist in both coding and billing of claims. This role involves responsibilities in billing, reimbursement, insurance follow-up, and coding including assigning required Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), and International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM).

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in healthcare billing and coding.
• Active Certified Coding Credential (CCS, CCS-P, CCA, RHIT, RHIA or CPC).
• Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field.
• Experience resolving reimbursement issues with Third Party Payers.
• Knowledge of reimbursement practices, CMS, HIPAA, and billing regulations.
• Proficient with billing software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Ability to work well with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Must possess professionalism and confidentiality.
