ICARDA

The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) is a treaty-based international non-profit research organization supported by CGIAR. ICARDA's mission is to reduce poverty and enhance food, water, and nutritional security while promoting environmental health in the face of global challenges such as climate change. The organization achieves its goals through innovative science, strategic partnerships, and capacity development, with a focus on gender equality and youth involvement. With its temporary headquarters in Beirut, Lebanon, ICARDA operates across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, collaborating with governments, universities, civil society, and other research entities. ICARDA is currently engaged in a reform process known as 'One CGIAR' to enhance its impact through integrated research and governance.
