Overview

The Sr. Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist, Supervisor will oversee claims handling and provide expertise for complex claim situations while managing a team.

In Short

  • Oversee claims management and ensure high-quality handling of workers' compensation claims.
  • Assist staff with investigating, communicating, and resolving claims.
  • Monitor and document claim files focusing on various management aspects.
  • Coach team members and conduct performance reviews.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and manage team development.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and training.
  • Analyze performance data and implement necessary changes.
  • Maintain communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Participate in risk control workshops and claim reviews.
  • Manage litigation claims and protect interests of insured and carriers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; college degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in adjusting property and casualty claims.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Active state-specific Workers Compensation License required.
  • Extensive knowledge of liability and workers' compensation coverages.
  • Proficient in claims processing procedures.
  • Ability to learn multiple state insurance regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Technical designations like AIC and CPCU encouraged.
  • Ability to pass state licensing exams.
