Senior CyberSecurity Engineer - Edge Security / Bot Mitigation - Remote

At DICK’S Sporting Goods, we’re committed to delivering world-class cybersecurity that protects our teammates, customers, and brand. We are looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer with deep expertise in edge security, specifically WAF and bot mitigation tooling, to join our cybersecurity team.

In Short

• Design, deploy, and optimize protections for web applications and APIs.
• Analyze threat data and traffic behavior to respond to malicious bot activity.
• Act as a subject matter expert on edge security technologies.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure secure deployment of services.
• Define and improve edge security architecture and operational runbooks.
• Provide guidance during security incidents and support investigations.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for enhancing security controls.
• Work in high-availability, high-traffic environments.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field, OR 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
• 3+ years managing edge security controls (WAF, bot mitigation).
• Expertise in WAF policy design and edge traffic analysis.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD integration and modern application architectures.
• Deep understanding of web protocols (HTTP/S, TLS) and OWASP threats.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred experience with Akamai WAF and security certifications (CISSP, OSWE).
• Familiarity with scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of other edge platforms (Cloudflare, Fastly, etc.).
