Mechanical Engineer (Early Hire) - Remote

In Short

• Develop and design our drill bit and drilling system – from initial concept to market launch
• Build prototypes and conduct testing and validation
• Work closely with the founders and product team on product strategy and technical decisions
• Set up and improve processes for development and manufacturing
• Select and collaborate with external partners and suppliers

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• 2–5 years of professional experience in product development, design, or manufacturing engineering
• Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) and common manufacturing technologies
• Hands-on mentality: you enjoy building, iterating, and finding creative solutions
• Structured and independent working style, with a willingness to take ownership
• Willingness to travel occasionally to partners, suppliers, and customer sites
• You are comfortable working in a hybrid setup (remote + on-site collaboration when needed)
• Ideally, experience working in a start-up or dynamic development environment
