Project Manager - Remote

Overview

Ember is seeking a strategic and collaborative Project Manager to lead on developing and embedding consistent project management practices across our organisation — ensuring that our research and data outputs are delivered to a high standard, on time, and with maximum impact. This role will not only project manage key outputs such as the Global Electricity Review, but also focus on building the tools, systems, and processes that empower our teams to manage projects effectively and consistently — from flagship reports to shorter analytical outputs and data-driven stories.

In Short

• Develop and embed consistent project management approaches across the organisation.
• Provide training and resources to build internal capacity in project management.
• Support teams to deliver high-quality outputs including reports and data stories.
• Identify and implement opportunities for streamlining project delivery processes.
• Lead the project management of key flagship reports.
• Monitor and report on project progress to senior leadership.
• Coordinate the involvement of third parties including translators and designers.
• Use emotional intelligence and leadership skills to resolve conflicts.
• Monitor project compliance and proactively address problems.
• Evaluate project impact and support continuous learning.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in project management in a research context.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience supporting others through training or coaching.
• Familiarity with tools for automating workflows.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Interpersonal skills to drive effective collaboration.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
