Overview

DeepWalk is a fast-growing venture that helps cities keep people safe using computer vision to map and monitor their sidewalks. We have ongoing contracts with cities, universities, and engineering firms.

In Short

  • Lead the technical direction of DeepWalk’s computer vision platform for automated sidewalk inspection.
  • Tackle high-impact, open-ended problems around large-scale imagery, production ML systems, and data pipelines.
  • Work closely with experienced engineers to set technical direction and establish scalable patterns.
  • Own the lifecycle of computer vision models, including training, evaluation, deployment, and iteration.
  • Improve model performance in real-world conditions.
  • Design and enhance data pipelines that process large volumes of imagery.
  • Lead architectural decisions for handling large geospatial and visual data.
  • Act as a senior individual contributor and mentor within the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with leadership to translate business needs into technical priorities.
  • Participate in a startup environment with evolving requirements.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in production ML or computer vision systems.
  • Experience with system architecture and influencing technical decisions.
  • Fluency in modern backend languages like Python, Java, or TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of system design and distributed systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Comfortable in a startup or growth-stage environment.
