Network Lead - Remote

Overview

Datum’s mission is to help 1k clouds thrive in the AI era by unlocking internet superpowers for every builder. We’re working in the open to bring the foundational capabilities that all the big guys use (private networking, peering, direct interconnection, etc) into the hands of builders and modern “alt clouds” — no network team required.

In Short

• Design, implement and run Datum's core backbone and internet edge.
• Drive complete visibility into all aspects of our network.
• Partner with leadership and data plane team for key projects.
• Build cross-provider connectivity through partners and hyperscalers.
• Work with alt-cloud customers to extend their reach.
• Approach problems through the lens of Datum APIs.
• Drive community engagement in the open.
• Scale the team through effective automation.
• Speak at networking conferences and write technical blog posts.
• Improve efficiency and processes.

Requirements

• Availability to work remotely during US east business hours.
• High emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills.
• 5+ years of experience in building and operating a global network.
• Strong knowledge in routing, peering, BGP, and anycast.
• Experience with software development and automation.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and orchestration.
• Track record in open source communities.
