Senior Quality Control Underwriter - Remote

Overview

The Senior Quality Control (QC) Underwriter is responsible for reviewing and analyzing approved mortgage loan files. This role involves auditing loan files to ensure they meet company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements, identifying and addressing any discrepancies, and providing feedback to improve the underwriting process. The Senior QC Underwriter plays a key role in helping to maintain the quality of the loan portfolio.

• Conduct thorough reviews of mortgage loan files to ensure compliance.
• Identify and document discrepancies, errors, or omissions.
• Assess loan approvals against established risk parameters.
• Analyze loan files for signs of fraud or misrepresentation.
• Communicate issues to the loan originations team.

• Ensure files are complete and set-up in accordance with policy.
• Meet deadlines while managing multiple loans.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in mortgage underwriting or quality control.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in mortgage loan origination systems.
• Knowledge of Meridian Mortgage Link is a plus.
• Underwriting or QC experience in non-QM is a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
