Overview

The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice. The Center is looking for an attorney with substantial practice experience in New York State Family Court to serve as a Director of Legal Training and Curriculum to design and develop training curricula and supporting practice guides for the newly established Family Court Practice Institute.

In Short

  • Develop training curricula for family court attorneys and practitioners.
  • Create resource materials like slide decks, tip sheets, and practice guides.
  • Serve as faculty for CLE-approved trainings.
  • Ensure compliance with NYS CLE Board requirements.
  • Recruit and coordinate with subject matter experts and trainers.
  • Manage staff and oversee training logistics.
  • Identify family court practice needs across New York State.
  • Coordinate with the Family Court Practice Institute’s Youth Council.
  • Respond to training gaps with tailored practice supports.
  • Engage in other related activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be admitted to practice law in New York State.
  • Substantial practice and training experience in New York family court.
  • Commitment to advancing justice for children and families.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Able to work in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Maintain strong relationships with partners across the Center and community.
  • Willingness to travel for training and collaboration.
