Senior Technical Artist - Remote

Overview

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join our studio to work on Project Orion, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077. In this role you will contribute to the research and development of our in-house tools and help establish and develop processes and procedures within Unreal Engine 5 to enable content development teams to meet our creative and technical goals.

In Short

• Collaborate closely with art directors, engineers, content designers, and artists.
• Develop tools and processes that enhance Unreal Engine 5.
• Research and integrate new features in Unreal Engine 5.
• Ensure high-quality asset integration while maintaining performance and memory efficiency.
• Identify and address bottlenecks in the art workflows.
• Write high-quality code that is optimized and aligned with project goals.
• Documentation, training, and guidance for development teams.
• Mentoring and guiding technical artists.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in a technical art role within the games industry.
• Excellent knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
• Experience using and developing tools for Unreal content creation.
• Familiarity with procedural content systems.
• Experience in tool development and automation using C++ and/or Python.
• Strong understanding of content performance/memory optimization.
• Experience with content creation software (Blender, Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter).
• Creative and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
