Overview

Cardiology Associates of Altoona, L.L.P is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Data Entry Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately inputting and maintaining patient data, medical records, and other vital information within our electronic health records (EHR) system. This position is integral to ensuring that our practice runs smoothly and our records are up to date, contributing to the efficiency of the cardiology team and the overall patient care experience.

In Short

  • Accurately enter and update patient information, medical records, billing data, and other administrative records into the EHR system.
  • Verify the accuracy of patient details, such as demographics, medical history, and insurance information.
  • Ensure data integrity and completeness through routine checks and audits.
  • Collaborate with medical and administrative staff to resolve discrepancies or obtain missing information.
  • Prepare, sort, and organize documents and files for entry into the database.
  • Perform routine backups of data and help maintain a secure and organized filing system.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and company policies related to patient information.
  • Assist in generating reports, queries, and summaries from the database as requested by management or healthcare providers.
  • Handle incoming communications (e.g., phone calls, emails) related to data or patient records and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling, filing, or document preparation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or some college coursework preferred.
  • Previous experience in data entry, administrative support, or healthcare-related fields is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with learning new software systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.
