British Rowing is seeking a confident, well-connected ambassador to represent Great Britain at the Coupe de la Jeunesse, an annual U19 European rowing event. This role involves influencing outcomes, building relationships, and championing British Rowing’s strategic goals.

In Short

  • Act as a main link between the Coupe Executive and British Rowing’s Board.
  • Represent British Rowing at key meetings and events.
  • Build strong relationships with international delegates.
  • Communicate effectively in multi-national settings.
  • Identify opportunities supporting British Rowing’s vision.
  • Present medals to winning crews during events.
  • Facilitate discussions on rule changes and elections.
  • Attend winter and summer meetings, plus other events.
  • Engage with stakeholders to shape British Rowing’s positions.
  • Commit to travel and preparation for meetings.

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm and knowledge of U19 rowing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience organizing significant domestic rowing events.
  • Negotiation skills for positive outcomes.
  • Time commitment for meetings and travel.
  • Knowledge of European and World Rowing governance (desirable).
  • Experience in Beach Sprints events (desirable).
  • Understanding of diversity and inclusion in sport (desirable).
  • Experience with international rowing events (desirable).
  • Qualification as a World Rowing umpire (desirable).
