Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - Remote

Overview

Our Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a critical role in assessing patients' mental and physical health based on symptoms and complaints. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans, which may include conducting individual psychotherapy, diagnosing psychiatric disorders, and prescribing medications. NPs also order diagnostic tests, monitor patients’ medication use and side effects, and educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options. They must maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) while adhering to HIPAA, state regulations, and national standards of care.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, or evaluate treatment plans.
• Conduct individual psychotherapy for those with chronic or acute mental disorders.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications and educate patients on medication risks and benefits.
• Monitor patients’ medication usage and side effects.
• Evaluate patients’ behavior and response to treatment.
• Document patients’ medical and psychological histories in the EHR.
• Practice in compliance with HIPAA and national standards of care.
• Assess patients’ mental and physical status based on presenting symptoms.
• Diagnose psychiatric disorders and order appropriate diagnostic testing.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with internal policies.

Requirements

• 2 years experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Currently holds a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Experience in Addiction and Mental Health.
• Open to obtaining additional state licensures.
• Motivational Interviewing experience.
• Experience working with adults in need of mental health treatment.
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and substance abuse dual-diagnoses.
• Experience with EHRs and timely documentation.
• Adaptable to technology including telehealth software.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
