Overview

Betches Media is seeking a part-time Weekend Entertainment writer who will write daily pop culture content for the Betches site, focusing on celebrity, TV, movies, and award shows.

In Short

Write and self-edit timely entertainment stories and evergreen content during evenings and weekends
Produce 3 timely news stories a day around trending entertainment, celebrity, and pop culture news
Track entertainment, pop culture, viral news, and TikTok/social media trends
Work closely with the Entertainment editor on story assignments
Ensure all content aligns with Betches editorial standards
Cover awards shows, breaking news, and other live entertainment events as needed

Requirements

2+ years of relevant writing experience for an online publication
In-depth knowledge of U.S. entertainment news and pop culture
Strong understanding of SEO best practices
Experience with self-publishing and self-editing
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
