Overview

The Mainframe z/OS System Programmer is responsible for upgrading, modifying, and maintaining the operating system while providing technical support and problem resolution for various system activities.

• 100% remote position within Canada.
• Install MVS software into SOS repository.
• Expert in Software Packaging and using SMPE.
• Implement software following required change process.
• Execute MOM tickets in preparation for Maintenance IPL's.
• Provide z/LINUX technical support.
• Participate in Client and Internal Audits.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support as part of a shared rotation.
• May require weekend or shift work.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience as a z/OS Systems Programmer.
• 3+ years supporting z/LINUX and z/OS.
• Demonstrated experience with Disaster Recovery.
• Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Leadership skills to assist less experienced personnel.
• Excellent problem-solving skills for network design and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.
• Professional presence in addressing complex technical challenges.
