Overview

Averna is seeking an experienced Senior Advisor, Global Tax to manage tax aspects and processes for their multinational operations, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax strategies.

In Short

• Evaluate tax aspects of treasury initiatives.
• Review and update transfer pricing policies.
• Identify opportunities to lower tax costs.
• Advise on sales tax and withholding tax impacts.
• Coordinate preparation of R&D Credit documentation.
• Implement improvements to tax processes.
• Update documentation and provide training on tax law changes.
• Coordinate tax aspects of M&A transactions.
• Prepare tax compliance reporting for Canada & USA.
• Respond to tax authority audits.

Requirements

• CPA designation in the US or Canada.
• 8+ years of corporate tax experience in multinational companies.
• Experience with US and Canadian outbound taxation.
• Ability to adapt to foreign statutory requirements.
• Proficient with tax research and Excel.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with compliance and audit processes.
• Strong communication skills for explaining tax concepts.
• Fluency in French is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems (D365 is an asset).
