Arcadis is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment with ample opportunities for career progression, focusing on sustainability and environmental management.

In Short

  • Join a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and technologists.
  • Manage technical tasks and field programs related to contaminated site investigations.
  • Prepare and review reports, work plans, and proposals.
  • Support practice area planning and collaborate with senior staff.
  • Foster professional relationships with clients and external agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety programs.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior staff.
  • Travel to project sites as needed.
  • Work in a hybrid model with remote and on-site visits.
  • Contribute to sustainable solutions for environmental challenges.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of experience with contaminated sites and site remediation.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma in Environmental Engineering or Geoscience.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance and guidelines.
  • Experience with project management and technical advice.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Behavior-Based Safety Systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and present results to clients.
  • Experience responding to Requests for Proposals.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills.
