System Game Designer - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a talented System Game Designer to join AppQuantum's in-house game development studio, PlayQuantum, to work on an exciting new project! In this role, you will experiment with new mechanics, explore emerging technologies, and contribute to innovative endeavors. If you're passionate about games, have a strong grasp of systems design, and can think both creatively and strategically, we'd love to have you on board to bring bold and exciting game ideas to life!

In Short

• Develop and refine gameplay features, shaping their evolution for years to come
• Analyze and extract insights from reference games, transforming ideas into actionable design documents
• Create clear, detailed design specs, including visual mockups that will help to streamline production and prevent bottlenecks
• Take high-level ownership of final deliverables, ensuring a complete, balanced, polished, and well-tested user experience
• Monitor and fine-tune the in-game economy to maintain a healthy system balance
• Adjust gameplay mechanics to optimize player engagement and sustain a well-balanced game meta
• Work closely with the analytics team throughout all development stages

Requirements

• Experience with similar game genres, such as Farm-expedition games or Idle Tycoons
• A strong passion for creating exceptional gameplay experiences
• Proven expertise in economy-focused systems design, especially within Simulation games
• Proficiency in Excel (or similar tools) for balancing game features, managing data, and tracking gameplay impact
• Strong understanding of industry design trends and best practices
• Strong teamwork skills, with a clear understanding that game development is a collaborative process
• English proficiency at B1 or higher
