Project Engineer - Remote

Overview

AECOM is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Markham, ON office. Opportunities for hybrid work are available.

In Short

• Assists the Senior Project Manager with planning, execution and delivering of multi-disciplinary engineering design projects.
• Coordinates project work with engineering design team such as architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering disciplines.
• Assist in developing and delivering projects from inception to final completion through scope development, preliminary design, detailed design, construction administration, handover, and closeout.
• Lead in-house designers and external sub-consultants through all project phases.
• Ensure quality principles are applied and followed by the design team and that documents meet quality requirements.
• Coordinate work of sub consultants and in-house design team.
• Assist Project Manager and Project Controls, in monthly progress and performance reporting.
• Plays an active role in records management, budget tracking, and scheduling.
• Prepares meeting minutes, reports, and other project documents.

Requirements

• A University degree in a relevant engineering or architectural discipline.
• Experience working within consulting industry on large, complex construction projects is an asset.
• Knowledge of current engineering principles and practices combined with a knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
• Understanding of fundamental building science and construction.
• Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives.
• Skills in report writing, scheduling, budgeting, and cost monitoring.
• Must be computer savvy and able to operate a Windows-based computer including programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
