Junior Geotechnical Engineer - Remote

Overview

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated geotechnical engineer to support mine tailings, geotechnical, and heavy civil infrastructure projects as part of the mining group.

In Short

• Perform specific portions of broader projects under supervision.
• Plan and oversee geotechnical exploration programs (30% travel/field time).
• Develop geotechnical laboratory testing assignments.
• Conduct geotechnical evaluations including material characterization and stability analyses.
• Prepare calculation packages and technical reports.
• Present evaluation results to internal teams.
• Review geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring reports.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
• MA/MS Civil Engineering preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of industry software such as GeoStudio and AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
