Overview

The Insurance Coordinator explores, recommends, and coordinates insurance and financial assistance options for kidney dialysis patients, maximizing revenue for the company while adhering to compliance and customer service standards.

In Short

  • Educates patients on insurance options.
  • Coordinates with local Social Security offices for Medicare eligibility.
  • Assists patients with insurance applications.
  • Tracks and verifies Medicaid status monthly.
  • Completes indigent waiver applications.
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly reports on caseloads.
  • Ensures accurate insurance information for billing.
  • Meets with patients to discuss direct payments from insurance.
  • Maintains compliance with internal policies.
  • Travels locally to clinics as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Social Work or Healthcare focus preferred.
  • 2 - 5 years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid systems is a plus.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service philosophy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
