Fiber Testing Technician - Remote

Overview

Zero dB Communications (ZdB) is a leading fiber optic full turnkey contractor headquartered in Spokane, Washington specializing in splicing/testing and placing fiber optic cables. Zero dB is looking for individuals to work under one of their divisions called NCT (North Central Telcom) in which they provide high quality telecommunications, engineering, furnishing and installing and fiber characterization services across the U.S.

In Short

• Remote position with travel to the field per assignment.
• Experience in telecommunications central offices or data centers required.
• Installation and removal of transport or switching equipment.
• Testing using OTDR and basic remediation based on results.
• Weekly pay and paid time off.

• Extensive travel required, up to 100% of the time.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible working hours including nights and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in communications centers.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Top notch computer skills.
• Knowledge of optical fiber inspection and cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of telecommunications network structure.
• Able to read Span Basic documents.
• Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must transport personal and company-provided tools safely.
