Overview

The RN Student Summer Patient Care Associate (PCA/CNA) position involves assisting patients with daily living tasks under the supervision of licensed personnel, while promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.

In Short

• Assist patients with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Perform vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs.
• Complete all required documentation in the medical record.
• Interact effectively with patients and their families.
• Help patients with basic hygiene tasks and mobility.
• Listen to and report health concerns to nurses.

• Work under the direction of licensed personnel.
• Physical requirements include lifting and assisting patients.
• Scheduled weekly hours: 24.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Experience in patient care/elder care preferred (1-2 years).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong patient/customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Proficient computer skills for electronic medical records.
