Land Manager - Remote

Overview

Water Access Rwanda is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Land Manager to lead the identification, acquisition, and management of land for our water infrastructure projects. This role is critical to the success of our mini-grid and borehole expansion strategy and requires a professional with a strong background in land surveying, cadastral planning, and land administration.

In Short

• Lead the identification of suitable land for boreholes and mini-grids.
• Conduct site assessments and ensure alignment with community needs.
• Negotiate land access and acquisition agreements.
• Conduct or supervise geophysical and cadastral surveys.
• Oversee land subdivision processes and secure title transfers.
• Apply for and secure water extraction permits.
• Resolve boundary disputes and manage compensation processes.
• Identify and address obstacles in proposed pipeline routes.
• Collaborate with technical teams on route adjustments.

Requirements

• Degree or advanced diploma in Land Surveying or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in land surveying.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven experience in land subdivision and title transfer.
• Recognition by the National Land Authority as a certified land surveyor.
• Proficiency in GIS, GPS, and surveying tools.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
