Authorization Specialist - Remote

Overview

We are looking for an Authorization Specialist to join our team!

In Short

• Position is hybrid remote after 6 months of continuous employment.
• 3 days remote and 2 days in-office.
• Obtain authorizations for medical procedures and services.
• Research benefits and eligibility to confirm authorization requirements.
• Create and maintain patient records in OneDrive and Epic.
• Correspond with insurance companies via various communication methods.
• General knowledge of authorization guidelines for insurance companies.
• Must be able to handle varying office noise levels.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
• High satisfaction rate from patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer operation and navigation skills.
• 3+ years of experience in medical billing preferred.
• Certification in medical billing or coding is a plus.
• General knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Prior use of EMR systems and scheduling software.
