Accounts Receivable Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Accounts Receivable Specialist ensures the timely receipt of revenue for aged and rejected claims. The specialist must be able to problem-solve a variety of reimbursement issues by filing appeals, following up on claims, and working collaboratively with management as well as provider representatives.

• Manage denial inventory for all assigned payer plans.
• Manage aged claim inventory for all assigned payer plans.
• Keep management informed of payer trends and issues.
• Timely submission and follow-up of appeals and grievances.
• Respond to patient and insurance inquiries.
• Manage payer issue projects and bulk appeals.
• Identify, document, and perform claim adjustments.
• Manage insurance correspondence.
• Verify patient eligibility as necessary.
• Participate in ongoing training for compliance and insurance benefits.

Requirements

• High School Education or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in medical accounts receivable preferred.
• Working knowledge of healthcare contracts and billing requirements.
• Creative problem-solving abilities.
• Efficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
