Lead Archaeologist - Remote

Overview

SEARCH has an immediate opening for Full-Time Lead Archaeologists to join our Terrestrial Archaeology division. Selected candidates must be based in the Southwestern US with regional CRM experience.

In Short

• Lead crews of archaeologists performing Phase I, II, and III archaeological studies.
• Responsible for pre-field research and logistical planning.
• Conduct fieldwork and analyze artifacts and data.
• Supervise project team members and contribute to reports.
• Adhere to health and safety plans.
• Revise field methodology based on observations.
• Provide in-field supervision and daily updates on project progress.
• Maintain field equipment and supplies.
• Travel for extended periods of time.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in archaeology and CRM.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in using GPS and other navigational equipment.
• Ability to analyze artifacts and write reports.
• Willingness to travel and work in various field conditions.
• Degree in archaeology or related field.
• Experience supervising field teams.
• Strong attention to detail.
