Overview

The Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is a nonpartisan watchdog organization focused on exposing government waste and corruption. They are seeking a Development Associate to manage grant-related fundraising activities.

In Short

• Manage aspects of grant-related fundraising activities.
• Prepare foundation materials including proposals and reports.
• Research foundation funders and philanthropic trends.
• Identify new funding opportunities for POGO’s programs.
• Track grant requirements and deadlines.
• Assist in planning quarterly meetings with the Executive team.
• Prepare quarterly program updates for the Board of Directors.
• Craft solicitation letters for individual donors.
• Perform other duties to support POGO’s foundation relations.
• Commit to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of foundation relations experience.
• Experience in writing grant proposals and reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and prospective research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• Initiative to solve problems and adapt to changes.
• Knowledge of foundations and grantmaking.
• Willingness to build relationships with law firms.
• Discretion in handling confidential information.
• (+) Understanding of government branches.
