Overview

The Shift Supervisor at Sonoco is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment while supervising production activities and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

In Short

• Maintain a safe work environment and correct unsafe acts/conditions.
• Support SQF guidelines and follow company policies.
• Supervise and coordinate production activities and employee performance.
• Conduct on-the-job training and development for employees.
• Lead problem-solving sessions for production and quality issues.
• Monitor machine parts and supplies for production equipment.
• Evaluate products for compliance with quality standards.
• Implement and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Handle environmental documentation and comply with regulations.
• Work assigned schedules and be available for overtime as needed.

Requirements

• Experience with LEAN practices and problem solving.
• Broad experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
• Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data.
• Proficient in workplace organization and process optimization.
• Ability to lead and train employees effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Must comply with safety practices and wear appropriate safety gear.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including 12-hour shifts.
