Instructional Designer - Remote

Overview

This is a vacancy for a hybrid or on-site role at our HQ in Tutzing (South of Munich). We encourage applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of gender identity. We are looking for an Instructional Designer (m/f/d) to join our Customer Education Team at Lobster. In this role, you will help customers and partners successfully adopt and use the Lobster Data Platform through high-quality self-service learning experiences. You will design, create, and maintain structured learning modules supported by written documentation and video-based training. Working at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Customer Enablement, you will translate real-world product usage into scalable educational content that reaches thousands of users across our global customer base. This is a role for someone who combines technical curiosity with a genuine talent for clear communication. In Short

• Designing, planning, and creating structured self-service learning modules across all product areas.
• Developing written training materials and high-quality video content that support different learning styles and levels of technical expertise.
• Collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, and Consulting to translate practical knowledge and best practices into effective learning content.
• Ensuring training reflects real-world use cases, data flows, and integration scenarios.
• Continuously improving materials based on product updates, customer and partner feedback, and usage insights.
• Delivering instructor-led training on-site and remotely for customers and partners.
• Contributing to the overall learning strategy and helping ensure consistency, clarity, and scalability across all content in the Lobster Digital Academy.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience creating technical learning content, documentation, or training materials for complex software products.
• Strong understanding of interface management, data flows, and data migration (middleware) concepts.
• Practical knowledge of integration architectures, APIs, message-based systems, and data transformation.
• The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured, customer-friendly content.
• Experience planning and executing end-to-end training initiatives.
• Comfort working with both written and video-based learning formats.
• Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
