Medical Billing Specialist - Remote

Overview

FOLX Health is currently looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle Management team. The Medical Billing Specialist will perform daily RCM activities and work with the Controller to enhance and further build out our insurance reimbursement processes. This position will play a critical role in securing the financial stability of FOLX Health and delivering excellent customer service to our patients.

In Short

• Responsible for all charges submitted by providers, ensuring accurate coding and timely collections
• Triage and correct claim denials by working daily Athena worklists for claim and coding corrections
• Monitor and correct eligibility errors
• Track insurance payments and ensure payment posting is completed correctly and timely
• Invoice patients to collect self pay balances
• Post patient payments and reconcile patient accounts
• Research and resolve patient communications and balance issues
• Manage payer portal access and profiles
• Work with credentialing team to update Athena payer and provider enrollments
• Support Controller in process improvement and overall reporting activities

Requirements

• 2+ years of billing experience
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Sense of urgency: ideally you have startup or fast-paced work environment experience
• Experience with Athena preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) preferred, CPB (Certified Professional Biller) preferred
