Science Education Coordinator - Remote

Overview

The Science Education Coordinator will coordinate PETA’s work with educators and parents to replace the use of animals in science education projects.

In Short

• Coordinate with teachers and parents about dissection alternatives.
• Build relationships with school district leaders for pilot programs.
• Assist in legislation to end animal dissection.
• Respond to science-related correspondence and inquiries.
• Research opportunities to replace animal dissection.
• Monitor for humane science options.
• Represent TeachKind at educational conferences.
• Write content for the TeachKind section of PETA.org.
• Travel as needed for outreach and representation.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Background in science education with classroom teaching experience.
• Knowledge of issues related to animal use in education.
• Familiarity with scientific terminology and virtual dissection software.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent phone communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle.
• Willingness to travel and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
