Senior Tax Consultant, Fuel & Excise Tax - Remote

Overview

The Senior Tax Consultant will support Tax Managers and Directors in providing fuel tax advisory and consulting services, focusing on fuel and excise tax compliance for clients in the U.S. and Canada.

• Support tax managers and directors in fuel tax advisory services.
• Prepare fuel and excise tax returns and ensure compliance.
• Conduct research on federal and state/provincial tax legislation.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure accurate tax treatment.
• Assist in resolving tax issues for clients.
• Negotiate with tax auditors during audits and refund processes.
• Prepare updates and reports for clients.
• Travel to client locations as needed (10-25%).
• Identify and analyze potential client opportunities.
• Maintain strong communication and client service skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in fuel and excise tax compliance.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Experience with tax engines like Vertex and ONESOURCE.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid Driver's License required.
