US Auditor - Full-time Independent Contractor - Remote

Be the steady hand behind numbers leaders can trust. As a US Auditor supporting a dynamic portfolio of US clients, you’ll plan and execute audits, turn complex standards into clear insights, and help clients strengthen controls before issues become findings.

In Short

• Plan the engagement: Define scope, materiality, and risk assessment.
• Understand & test controls: Perform walkthroughs of key processes.
• Execute substantive work: Design and perform analytical procedures.
• Focus on revenue & leases: Evaluate ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Conduct non-profit audits: Apply FASB 958 standards.
• Audit key estimates: Review AR allowances and inventory.
• Apply defensible sampling approaches and leverage data tools.
• Build clear, GAAS-compliant workpapers.
• Identify control deficiencies and propose remediation steps.
• Stay current on US GAAS and relevant GAAP updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of US external audit experience.
• Strong command of US GAAP and GAAS.
• Proficiency with audit software and cloud collaboration tools.
• Solid Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Clear, concise English communication skills.
• Comfortable working US business hours.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with data analytics tools.
