Overview

AECOM is seeking to hire a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer for the Data Center and Mission Critical team for our east region. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the tech sector and data center industry, understanding the requirements of scale, speed, and consistency in data centers.

• Design Heat Rejection and HVAC systems for data centers.
• Select appropriate cooling systems based on requirements.
• Conduct CFD analysis for airflow optimization.
• Ensure redundancy and fault tolerance in HVAC systems.
• Perform heat load calculations for capacity planning.
• Implement energy-efficient design strategies.
• Maintain air quality through effective filtration systems.
• Coordinate with electrical and mechanical systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Preferred: Advanced degree in HVAC engineering.
• Knowledge of data center standards (Uptime Institute, TIA 942).
• Professional certifications in HVAC engineering are advantageous.
• P.E. registration preferred.
