Overview

AECOM is seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Ecological Risk Assessor to become an integrated member of AECOM’s risk assessment and remediation practices. The location of this position is flexible and may be either in-office or remote.

In Short

  • Support a wide range of projects for Federal clients throughout the U.S. (and internationally).
  • Must be willing to perform field work.
  • Perform ecological risk assessments in accordance with regulatory guidance and project-specific work plans.
  • Develop Risk Assessment Work Plans and contribute to Sampling and Analysis Plans/Quality Assurance Project Plans.
  • Successfully coordinate with internal project teams, including delegating to junior staff.
  • Prepare technical deliverables; including writing reports and performing/reviewing risk assessment calculations.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations/guidance documents for conducting risk assessments.
  • Maintain work quality, quantity, and efficiency at or above company standards.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, Ecology, Zoology or other related area and 4+ years of experience performing ecological risk assessments in an environmental consulting setting.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records and background check.
  • Experience performing data analysis and applied statistics.
  • Applied knowledge of USEPA Ecological Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience evaluating PFAS, PCBs, and lead.
  • CERCLA experience with Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and ROD development.
  • Experience working on Navy or Department of Defense projects.
  • Experience dealing with the Hawaii Department of Health and EPA Region 9.
  • Experience working with projects in Hawaii, Guam, and other Pacific Islands.
  • Preferred work location Hawaii.
  • Experience performing wildlife assessments.
