VFX Compositing Technical Director (TD) - Remote

Overview

The VFX Compositing Technical Director (TD) is responsible for the design and implementation of tools and workflows that address compositing needs, supporting the Compositing department in achieving artistic goals.

In Short

• Design, develop, and maintain digital pipeline tools for compositing.
• Extend Nuke capabilities through custom scripts and plugins.
• Collaborate with the Digital Pipeline team to integrate tools and APIs.
• Establish workflows and best practices for shot production.
• Communicate effectively with artists and production management.
• Identify areas of innovation and develop custom tools.
• Provide technical guidance for quality control.
• Support the Lead Compositor in delivering creative solutions.
• Maintain existing tools through bug fixes and updates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with compositing tools and workflows.
• Experience in Nuke, Nuke Studio/Hiero, and Photoshop.
• Experience developing custom Nuke toolsets with Python3.
• Experience with Linux operating system.
• Knowledge of Blink Script preferred.
• Understanding of VFX pipeline fundamentals.
• Experience with production grade renderers like Renderman.
• Expertise in Python coding and Nuke Python APIs.
• Experience with Universal Scene Description (USD) APIs is a plus.
